CITTADELLA, TREVISO + VENEZIA
PJ headed off for another work trip while Eric and Aimee were still in town so it was up to the 3 of us to continue our exploration.
Treviso
We decided to take a day trip to Treviso, with a stop in Cittadella. Treviso is a little over an hour away and, up until this trip, I thought it was only home to the ryanair airport.
Treviso is a smaller city that is composed of cobblestone streets, canals, and beautiful buildings. It has a mere fraction of the tourist that Venezia has, but it has a nice charm about it. Spending a day there is much more relaxing than dealing with the weekend crowds in Venezia.
Cittadella
On our way home we decided to make a quick stop in Cittadella. It is a medieval walled city localed in the province of Padova. It is a small city but it has an amazing fortress wall which has been restored. Eventually I will get back there to walk along the wall. We had Reesey with us and unfortunately they don't allow dogs along the walkway.
Venezia
Another day trip was to Venezia. It was a beautiful day and top of the list was a gondola ride. It was our first time on one and while I think it is overpriced and catered towards tourists, it is a great experience!
