RIFUGIO MALGA LARICI DA ALESSIO: ASIAGO, ITALIA

January
After our failed attempt at snowshoeing in Cortina, we decided to give it another shot in Asiago. This worked out much better. We headed to Rifugio Malga Larici da Alessio which is about 1.5 hours from Vicenza, and enjoyed a perfect day of snow, sun and views. We did have a little trouble following the trail, as the trail head apparently started along the road before the rifugio, but we decided to follow the crowd and scaled the side of the mountain. It was a workout, but the views made it worth it!

Our plan was to take trail 826 which would be about 3-6 hours depending on if you take the shortcut. It trail has views of Valsugana, catene del Lagorai, Brenta, Adamello, Monte Verena, Asiago plateau, Cima Dodici, Monte Trentin, Monte Ortigara, Le Cime principal dell Dolomiti and Monte Grappa. The trail also has bunker remains from WWI.

After the hike we headed to the rifugio for some sun and vino and then headed into Asiago centro.

Those ears!!
