This past week was Vicenza Jazz week and downtown Vicenza
has had performances at multiple venues every night. Some events are free and
some cost a few euros, but the events are well worth it. Some of the venues
include Teatro Olimpico, Teatro Comunale Citta de Vicenza, Bar Borsa, ViArt,
Palazzo Trissino, AB23, and many more.
Last Saturday, May 11th, PJ and I attended the
Earth Wind & Fire Experience featuring Al McKay. The performance was in
Piazza dei Signori and started at 2100. It was one of the free performances and
the piazza was packed.
The band included Al McKay, Luis Gonzales, Omar Peralta, Tim
Owens, Claude Woods, Devere Duckett, Ben Dowling, Freddie Flewelen, Dean Gant,
Aaron Haggerty, David Leach, Justin Kirk, and Ed Wynne.

This past Friday night, May 17, we were able to catch
Apolide Quartet featuring Adam Nussbaum at Bar Borsa in the Basilica Palladiana.
The music was great; the smoking was not.
The band included Gigi Sella-Sax, Beppe Calamosca-Trombone, Paolo
Scalzotto-Basso elettrico, Adam Nussbaum-Batteria
